💰 New in Funding: €40M Future Food Fund

🇪🇪 Estonian startup Starship Technologies raised $90 million in a round led by Plural and Iconical. Its sidewalk delivery robots have collectively travelled 11 million miles in some 80 locations across the US and Europe, for partners including the grocery chain Co-Op and food services companies like Aramark, Sodexo and Grubhub.

🇨🇦 The government of Canada announced its plans to provide CAD 89 million (approximately $65.85 million) in funding to dairy, poultry and egg processors in the country.

💰 Netherlands-based The Future Food Fund II closed with its target of €40 million to support seed and Series A companies in Western Europe working within areas such as regenerative agriculture, environmentally friendly food, and circular systems. Its portfolio so far includes UK-based Extracellular, a CDMO scale-up and development partner for cultivated meat.

🍗 Spanish plant-based meat startup Heura raised €40 million Series B funding, marking one of the largest investments into a vegan company in the past year, to accelerate its international expansion plans and explore more collaborative models beyond its own meat alternatives as it drives towards profitability.

🥗 LA-based ProducePay secured $38 million Series D funding to help tackle fresh produce supply chain waste. Its proprietary agri-fintech platform provides fruits and vegetables growers with financing and market intelligence to support them to meet their commitments.

🇪🇸 Spain’s theFoodTechLab launched its first fund, Climate Fund I, with a target size of €30 million. It will use the funds to support seed to Series A startups across the EU and Israel, working within Ag-tech, Health & Nutrition, Alternative Proteins, and the Circular Economy & Waste sectors

🛒 French grocery shopping and bespoke menu recommendation app Jow secured $13 million in a Series A extension led by Northzone to support its US market entry plans.

🌾 US startup iYOTAH Solutions raised $2.8 million in a Series A funding round led by Innova Memphis’ Innova Ag Innovation Fund VI. Its data management software platform for the livestock industry helps farmers to turn data into actionable solutions, optimising resources and maximising profits.
